When I first began my website, the angels guided me to dedicate Sundays to the gospel (heard in church). With love and gratitude, I sure honor that. With a loving message behind it. The Gospel of Mark 5:21-43
When Jesus had crossed again in the boat
to the other side,
a large crowd gathered around him, and he stayed close to the sea.
One of the synagogue officials, named Jairus, came forward.
Seeing him he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him, saying,
“My daughter is at the point of death.
Please, come lay your hands on her
that she may get well and live.”
He went off with him,
and a large crowd followed him and pressed upon him.
There was a woman afflicted with hemorrhages for twelve years.
She had suffered greatly at the hands of many doctors
and had spent all that she had.
Yet she was not helped but only grew worse.
She had heard about Jesus and came up behind him in the crowd
and touched his cloak.
She said, “If I but touch his clothes, I shall be cured.”
Immediately her flow of blood dried up.
She felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.
Jesus, aware at once that power had gone out from him,
turned around in the crowd and asked, “Who has touched my clothes?”
But his disciples said to Jesus,
“You see how the crowd is pressing upon you,
and yet you ask, ‘Who touched me?’”
And he looked around to see who had done it.
The woman, realizing what had happened to her,
approached in fear and trembling.
She fell down before Jesus and told him the whole truth.
He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has saved you.
Go in peace and be cured of your affliction.”
While he was still speaking,
people from the synagogue official’s house arrived and said,
“Your daughter has died; why trouble the teacher any longer?”
Disregarding the message that was reported,
Jesus said to the synagogue official,
“Do not be afraid; just have faith.”
He did not allow anyone to accompany him inside
except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.
When they arrived at the house of the synagogue official,
he caught sight of a commotion,
people weeping and wailing loudly.
So he went in and said to them,
“Why this commotion and weeping?
The child is not dead but asleep.”
And they ridiculed him.
Then he put them all out.
He took along the child’s father and mother
and those who were with him
and entered the room where the child was.
He took the child by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum,”
which means, “Little girl, I say to you, arise!”
The girl, a child of twelve, arose immediately and walked around.
At that they were utterly astounded.
He gave strict orders that no one should know this
and said that she should be given something to eat.
The Gospel reading for today is about faith, compassion, the relationship Jesus has with us, his healing power and how much he absolutely loves everyone equally. In the first portion of the reading, Jairus approached Jesus in faith about healing his young daughter. The crowd was also pressing against Jesus in faith. The woman with hemorrhages decided with faith to touch the clothing of Jesus to heal her affliction. She said, “If I but touch his clothes, I shall be cured.” Through the Grace of God, she received insight and acted upon it with faith to touch the clothing of Jesus and her hemorrhages were instantly dried. What she wasn’t prepared for, however, was for Jesus to turn around, and asked who touched him. With all of the people touching and pressing against him, he felt the faith of one woman, he felt the power go out from him to heal her. She wasn’t prepared for the love, the relationship, and the Holy Face of our Lord to turn around and ask, “who touched me?” Not knowing Jesus intimately, she was frightened, but still told him everything. He responds with the love and relationship of Christ , “Daughter, your faith has saved you. Go in peace and be cured of your affliction.”
That same relationship, that same love, that same compassion, that same peace – Jesus has with us today. He loves us dearly and will help all those who ask in faith, even those who are not aware of the love He has for us.
Jesus was interrupted with the news that Jairus’ daughter had passed away. Jesus says to Jairus, “Do not be afraid; just have faith.” , he announces the child is simply sleeping and brings the child back to life. Which is a Miracle through His Grace, Authority, God’s Truth- and he simply instructed those that were invited to stay with him to have faith.
Through Jesus, we are taught to approach the Lord in faith. Faith is always recognized by God and the Good Lord in Heaven . Jesus does not want us to choose suffering, but to choose faith– to give everything to him and the Heavenly Father. When His Gospels, His News, His Words -are acted upon, Jesus notices and helps those who ask in faith, today , tomorrow and always. For he said ” I AM always with you.” Everything you do , is with the help of Heaven, and you are never alone.
Jesus wants everyone to know he is always there to help, to guide, to console in all matters.- The Angel Team
Pray about about anything in Faith to God, to Jesus His Son (for they are not separate and neither are we), and know your prayers are being answered immediately by God’s Goodness, His Heavenly Grace and His Fatherly Unconditional Love. Know you have a relationship with Jesus Christ that is like none other.
For he has called you to be his brothers and sisters in the Kingdom of God. Give everything to the Lord and do not be afraid to ask for His help. Lift up your concerns, if any , always. Know in faith that they will be handled through God’s Grace and you will receive the help of God in all ways. Trust in him always- The Angel Team
