Bread of God

The angels asked me awhile back to post on the Gospels on Sundays. Here is the Gospel from today- with love and gratitude .The Gospel of John 6:24-35

When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there,
they themselves got into the boats,
and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus.
And when they found him across the sea they said to him,
“Rabbi, when did you get here?”
Jesus answered them and said
“Amen, Amen, I say to you,
you are looking for me not because you saw signs
but because you ate the loaves and were filled.
Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life
which the Son of Man will give you.
For on him the Father, God has set his seal.”
So, they said to him,
“what can we do to accomplish the works of God?”
Jesus answered and said to them,
“This is the work of God, that you believe in the one he sent.”
so they said,
“What sign can you do , that we may see and believe in you? What can you do?”
Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, as it is written:
He gave them bread from Heaven to eat.”
So Jesus said to them,
“Amen , amen I say to you,
it was not Moses who gave you bread form Heaven;
my Father gives you true bread from Heaven
For the bread of God is that which comes down from Heaven
and gives life to the world.”

The angels say that “bread from Heaven” is the Word of God. What I have learned is that the “Word” and “Jesus”  are the same.  The Lord and the Word are one. As God is one with the Word. This is why our hearts feel so nourished when we receive the Word, and accept it as truth and act upon it, when we receive Jesus in the Eucharist, and/or when we receive Jesus in our hearts. When we ask for spiritual bread, for God’s love , for spiritual nourishment, this never goes unnoticed and is always supplied. God supplies our hearts with his Word, with His love and with His Holy Spirit, sent to us through His son, Jesus Christ. Sent to us by the unlimited ways of God. “You need only ask…” the angels said. “There is nothing hidden. Jesus empowered us through his insight and God was revealed to humanity as a loving Father. To this day and beyond, God has never changed, neither has Jesus , His Glorified Son, who reigns with Him in the Highest of Heaven. They are the Most High and will fill your hearts indeed. Get close to what God and Jesus love by listening to the Gospels. These are Words of Truth-God’s Word. They contain spiritual knowledge, and will help with spiritual growth for everyone if listened to and acted upon. Receive him in church and daily ask for Jesus to be with you, in communion. Ask to receive him in Communion , which is a Sacrament, and a Grace from the Most High and will be given to all who ask.”

Dear Heavenly  Father, May all who ask receive You in Spirit, May I receive you in the Holy Eucharist and share this joy with everyone I meet. May all be nourished by the Body, Blood, Bread, Water, Passion and Eucharist of the Divine Son, Jesus Christ”
