So It Will Be Also at the Coming of the Son of Man- with Lectio Divina

Jesus

Awhile back, the angels asked me to dedicate Sundays to the Gospels, With love and gratitude, here is the Gospel of  Matthew 24:37-44- with a loving message behind it and Lectio Divina for prayerful reading.

Jesus said to his disciples:
“As it was in the days of Noah,
so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.
In those days before the flood,
they were eating and drinking,
marrying and giving in marriage,
up to the day that Noah entered the ark.
They did not know until the flood came and carried them all away.
So will it be also at the coming of the Son of Man.
Two men will be out in the field;
one will be taken, and one will be left.
Two women will be grinding at the mill;
one will be taken, and one will be left.
Therefore, stay awake!
For you do not know on which day your Lord will come.
Be sure of this: if the master of the house
had known the hour of night when the thief was coming,
he would have stayed awake
and not let his house be broken into.
So too, you also must be prepared,
for at an hour you do not expect, the Son of Man will come.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today’s Gospel stresses that the time  of God’s coming in unknown; therefore believers must always be prepared. As the great flood caught people unawares, the coming of the Son of Man will also arrive in God’s own time. Matthew uses the greek word “parousia”, here translated as “Coming”, which in Roman society, referred to a ruler’s visitation to a city or an arrival of a deity bringing salvation to the people. Christians adopted the word, combining both meanings, to speak of Christ’s Coming to complete God’s final rule, which began in His ministry. For that Coming, Christians must always be prepared.[see reference]
Today is the first Sunday of advent, which continues through Christmas Eve. Here is a sample of Lectio Divina, that you can practice at home with God’s Word, and is meant for prayerful reading, but also for meditating on God’s Holy Word.
Lectio Divina for Prayerful Reading
  1. Lectio: Read a scripture passage aloud and slowly. Notice what phrase captures your attention and be attentive to its meaning. Silent pause.
  2. Meditatio: Read the passage aloud slowly again, reflecting on the passage, allowing God to speak  to you through it.  Silent pause.
  3. Oratio: Read it aloud slowly a third time, allowing it to be your prayer or response to God’s gift of insight to you. Silent pause.
  4. Contemplatio: Read it slowly a fourth time, now resting in God’s Holy Word.
Guardian angel 3
 In all ways, prayer helps all things. Prayer increases God’s help among Earth. God is offering His assistance 24/7 and you are never without the Most High. He is always with  you and will always  be with you. God is helping you now , even as we speak. He has always been there helping in all ways, even when it seems like He has not been there. He has never forgotten you and never will. This has been written in the Bible, and is worth repeating. Try to understand the Father’s Love, for it is greater than you can imagine. The depths of His Heart is eternally loving and to His Goodness there is no end. His ways are the Highest ways and Trust Him with all of your sincere, heartfelt prayers. For in His Goodness He answers without hesitation all prayer. All prayers are answered immediately. Trust Him with everything, pray unceasingly this holiday and always, give thanks for everything He does, for in His Goodness He will assist all; answer the humble heart, the sincere heart, the lowly heart, the poor of heart, the one who comes in faith, thanksgiving, praise and hearts of goodness. All will be answered in all ways , without hesitancy. God sees your goodness, and always has. His Light emanates within your heart and He knows his peacemakers, His favored, His chosen, for all are chosen before they enter the Earth and were selected before the Earth was made by God Himself. God is all knowing, all encompassing and may you praise Him daily and give thanks unceasingly.
“Lift up your hearts, for He has Risen ” is sung by the Seraphim angels constantly to all people. This is a season of joy, rejoice in this Season and know that God and Jesus love everyone equally- as it is written, God is always with you and will never leave you.
This Christmas, invite God to be with you, in your heart. Ask for Him to send you His Love into your heart, into your mind, and overflow within every cell, every organ, every system, and within every area of your mind, heart and soul. May you share in His Love, for He is Willing to send His Holy Love to you always. In every moment , His Love is offered.
“Hallowed be thy Name Father, will you please send the Love you have in store for me? Will you please overflow in every area of my mind, body, emotions, heart and soul, and May I share this Love with everyone I meet today. Clear me of any err in thinking that makes me feel separate from You. Clear me of any thought that I am not worthy of Your Love, and hold me in Your Embrace. In Jesus’ Name. Amen”
and so it is, amen, amen, amen…..
Jesus Saves
Jesus 2
Awhile back, the angels asked me to dedicate Sundays to the Gospels. With Love and Gratitude, here is the Gospel of Luke 23:35-43. With a loving message behind it.
The rulers sneered at Jesus and said,
“He saved others, let him save himself
if he is the chosen one, the Christ of God.”
Even the soldiers jeered at him.
As they approached to offer him wine they called out,
“If you are King of the Jews, save yourself.”
Above him there was an inscription that read,
“This is the King of the Jews.”
Now one of the criminals hanging there reviled Jesus, saying,
“Are you not the Christ?
Save yourself and us.”
The other, however, rebuking him, said in reply,
“Have you no fear of God,
for you are subject to the same condemnation?
And indeed, we have been condemned justly,
for the sentence we received corresponds to our crimes,
but this man has done nothing criminal.”
Then he said,
“Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.”
He replied to him,
“Amen, I say to you,
today you will be with me in Paradise.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Today we celebrate the Solemnity of Christ, the King of the Universe. We recognize and celebrate that Jesus is Lord over all of God’s Kingdom. Lord of Heaven, Earth and the Universe. Jesus is Lord over even the stars, all religions, belief systems, and even those who do not believe in him. This very special Sunday falls the very week before we begin the Advent season, which is the following weekend.

The Mercy of God is great, as well as the Mercy  and Passion of the Lord. Note that Jesus has handed himself over for his bitter Passion, and is in complete agony on the cross after being scourged. When the thief to the left of him recognizes Jesus, and uses faith and humility, asking Jesus Christ to remember him when he goes in front of the Father, Jesus doesn’t say,”Well , hang on and I will think about it .” He doesn’t say, “Whew! You sure did mess up big time! Let me talk about it with God first.” No, Jesus forgives him on the spot, the moment the thief asked and announces that the thief will be in Paradise with the Lord , when he goes to the Father. Jesus knows that Mercy of God is Eternally Great, and knows He has Authority to forgive sin. The thief received eternal salvation right then and there, the second he asked.

I offer this to you because Jesus and God are both extremely Merciful. Jesus came to save many, and announces to the thief, who has lived not the best life, that he too will be in Paradise. What a Great God we serve ! What A Merciful and Great God. Trust in Jesus and in God’s Mercy. For even when Jesus was in complete and total agony, Jesus was still able to forgive sin, and bring this son of God to Heaven with him.

In Jesus’ Name

Jesus

Awhile back, the angels asked to to dedicate Sundays to the Gospels. With Love and Gratitude, here is the Gosepl of Luke 21: 5-19. LK 21:5-19

 While some people were speaking about
how the temple was adorned with costly stones and votive offerings,
Jesus said, “All that you see here–
the days will come when there will not be left
a stone upon another stone that will not be thrown down.”

Then they asked him,
“Teacher, when will this happen?
And what sign will there be when all these things are about to happen?”
He answered,
“See that you not be deceived,
for many will come in my name, saying,
‘I am he,’ and ‘The time has come.’
Do not follow them!
When you hear of wars and insurrections,
do not be terrified; for such things must happen first,
but it will not immediately be the end.”
Then he said to them,
“Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
There will be powerful earthquakes, famines, and plagues
from place to place;
and awesome sights and mighty signs will come from the sky.

“Before all this happens, however,
they will seize and persecute you,
they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons,
and they will have you led before kings and governors
because of my name.
It will lead to your giving testimony.
Remember, you are not to prepare your defense beforehand,
for I myself shall give you a wisdom in speaking
that all your adversaries will be powerless to resist or refute.
You will even be handed over by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends,
and they will put some of you to death.
You will be hated by all because of my name,
but not a hair on your head will be destroyed.
By your perseverance you will secure your lives.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Jesus is drawn into discussing the end after gazing into the Temple and anticipating its demise. Such awareness is healthy and necessary for all mature believers.
Realizing that fascination with the end times will attract charlatans who hope to profit from fears and uncertainty, Jesus warns of con men who will claim his identity.
With the warning comes a promise that perseverance will bring salvation. [see reference]
Jesus reminds us that He remains with us, even to the end of times. Focusing on His gaze (of Divine Strength) and knowing that He continues to guide our hearts and minds (throughout all times) is important for all to recognize.
Jesus had come at a time where His Word was considered illegal to some that did not recognize Him. In those times, the community would consider you an outcast if you were not to follow their (then) customs, which unfortunately could also cause division within families, imprisonment and even death. Fortunately for all, Jesus is, was and always will be,   the true Salvation. Jesus is Lord over all and the True Holy Begotten Son of God Almighty. Persevering in faith and in His Word is something we are called to do in every generation. In Jesus name.
