“For This Purpose I Have Come”

Awhile back, the angels asked me to dedicate Sundays to the Gospels, with love and gratitude, here is the Gospel of Mark 1:29-39  MK 1:29-39

On leaving the synagogue
Jesus entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John.
Simon’s mother-in-law lay sick with a fever.
They immediately told him about her.
He approached, grasped her hand, and helped her up.
Then the fever left her and she waited on them.

When it was evening, after sunset,
they brought to him all who were ill or possessed by demons.
The whole town was gathered at the door.
He cured many who were sick with various diseases,
and he drove out many demons,
not permitting them to speak because they knew him.

Rising very early before dawn, he left
and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed.
Simon and those who were with him pursued him
and on finding him said, “Everyone is looking for you.”
He told them, “Let us go on to the nearby villages
that I may preach there also.
For this purpose have I come.”
So he went into their synagogues,
preaching and driving out demons throughout the whole of Galilee.

Galilee is the city of  Jesus’ first teaching and miracles in Mark’s Gospels.  In a tender gesture toward Simon’s mother -n-law that ignores any fear of touching the ill. Jesus “helped her up” , literally he “raised her up” (egeiro) a verb used in resurrection accounts. Her healing is a sign of the fullness of life in the Kingdom of God. Once healed, she “waited on them” – which carries a rich meaning. Her action is one of “service” (diakoneo) that describes Christian Ministry. Once healed, she participates in the mission of Jesus’ disciples. Jesus also shows a sovereign power over anything unholy [see reference] and continues to announce the Good news- that the Kingdom of God is present among them.

Go and Do Likewise

Compassion of Jesus

Awhile back, the angels asked me to write on the Gospels on Sundays. With love and gratitude, here is the Gospel of Luke 10:25-37- with a loving angel inspired (and guided) message behind it.

There was a scholar of the law who stood up to test him and said,
“Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
Jesus said to him, “What is written in the law?
How do you read it?”
He said in reply,
“You shall love the Lord, your God,
with all your heart,
with all your being,
with all your strength,
and with all your mind,
and your neighbor as yourself.”

He replied to him, “You have answered correctly;
do this and you will live.”

But because he wished to justify himself, he said to Jesus,
“And who is my neighbor?”
Jesus replied,
“A man fell victim to robbers
as he went down from Jerusalem to Jericho.
They stripped and beat him and went off leaving him half-dead.
A priest happened to be going down that road,
but when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side.
Likewise a Levite came to the place,
and when he saw him, he passed by on the opposite side.
But a Samaritan traveler who came upon him
was moved with compassion at the sight.
He approached the victim,
poured oil and wine over his wounds and bandaged them.
Then he lifted him up on his own animal,
took him to an inn, and cared for him.
The next day he took out two silver coins
and gave them to the innkeeper with the instruction,
‘Take care of him.
If you spend more than what I have given you,
I shall repay you on my way back.’
Which of these three, in your opinion,
was neighbor to the robbers’ victim?”
He answered, “The one who treated him with mercy.”
Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The scholar of the law has demonstrated a clear grasp of the Mosaic Law, quoting a composite of Leviticus (19:18), Deuteronomy (6:5), and Joshua (22:5) to answer Jesus’ question about the teaching of the law. But Jesus will now take him much further in his understanding by demonstrating that the “neighbor” he seeks can even be one he despises as enemy. Because cultural and religious history had turned Jews and Samaritans into bitter opponents, Jesus casts a Samaritan as hero of his story in order to demonstrate the primacy of love.
Jesus intentionally scripts the story to include a “priest” and “Levite” and places them in context that contrasts the demands of love with the legalism that infected the religion of the day like a cancer. Many Levites who served as Temple assistants in the Jerusalem Temple, lived in Jericho, about seventeen miles away. The road between was known to be dangerous; in fact, one stretch was called the “way of blood” because of frequent robberies and killings.
The priest and Levite observe the strict requirements of the Law, staying away from the victim in order to avoid ritual impurity on their way to serve in the Temple. But Jesus seeks to show a better way and his role model is a social outcast- a Samaritan who goes well beyond any reasonable expectations to care for the victim. He washes and anoints the man and then bandages him, probably with torn strips of his own clothing. He leaves a large amount of money for his care and promises more if that’s not enough.
Now Jesus asks the scholar to answer his own question about  which one was the neighbor. Mercy is the attribute of God that makes us like Him. Only with a merciful heart can we love our neighbor as ourselves- and is what is needed to be a neighbor. [see reference]
“Jesus loves you entirely and has set an example for all . Jesus’ love surpasses the human heart – a Divine love that is so strong, it is eternal , unconditional and Divinely understanding. Using this Love within your life for others will get the attention of the Lord, and increase the Love within everyone. Loving your neighbor as yourself brings blessings upon every person you love. Love is what heals and the Love of Christ is with you beloved, and will always be with you. Love one another and Love God first beloved- who loves you entirely and the most. Jesus will always help you love and so will God when you ask sincerely. Love will overflow within you and others when all choose to love openly and choosing God first is being asked and required from God Himself- who loves you. God is merciful and loves you with His Holy and unlimited and eternal Love and will always be with you.” ~ The Angels
Do Not Cast A Stone
Compassion of Jesus
Today’s Angel Insight is dedicated to the Gospel.  Awhile back, the angels asked me to dedicate Sunday’s to the Gospel. (This is the first opportunity I have had to do so! ) With Love and gratitude , here is The Gospel of John 8 1:1-11; with an angel guided message behind it.
Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.
But early in the morning he arrived again in the temple area,
and all the people started coming to him,
and he sat down and taught them.
Then the scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman
who had been caught in adultery
and made her stand in the middle.
They said to him,
“Teacher, this woman was caught
in the very act of committing adultery.
Now in the law, Moses commanded us to stone such women.
So what do you say?”
They said this to test him,
so that they could have some charge to bring against him.
Jesus bent down and began to write on the ground with his finger.
But when they continued asking him,
he straightened up and said to them,
“Let the one among you who is without sin
be the first to throw a stone at her.”
Again he bent down and wrote on the ground.
And in response, they went away one by one,
beginning with the elders.
So he was left alone with the woman before him.
Then Jesus straightened up and said to her,
“Woman, where are they?
Has no one condemned you?”
She replied, “No one, sir.”
Then Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you.
Go, and from now on do not sin any more.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Jesus sends a powerful message to all of us. Jesus’ Divine Compassion and Divine Mercy mirror that of  Our Heavenly Father, not just with this woman, but with all of us. Jesus, here has not abolished the law, but again fulfilled it through Perfect Wisdom. He did not come to condemn, but to save and here, saves this woman who,  was brought before him – to test Jesus.

Jesus asks all of us not to judge, but to follow in his footsteps;  for judgment will come from him and the Heavenly Father alone. Not to condone sin, but to recognize that through Jesus ‘ Mercy , and the Mercy of the Heavenly Father , all can come to him in faith , knowing that the Mercy and Love of God is bigger than we possibly know.

The woman was not expecting to have been forgiven. “Go in faith and sin no more” are powerful words from Christ, ones that should be heeded, recognizing that through God’s Love, the Mercy of God and the Compassion of Jesus,  sins can be forgiven without judgement.

Turning away from wrong-doing; hurting ourselves or hurting others is just as an important message as the Mercy of God who forgave us, instructing us to have faith, and to go in peace , which can be obtained through Christ our Lord.

Jesus Gives Rest

Jesus

The angels had guided me to post on the gospels on Sundays- with love and gratitude I surely do. With a loving message behind it.  Gospel of Mark 6:30-34

The apostles gathered together with Jesus
and reported all they had done and taught. Jesus said to them,
“Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest awhile.”
People were coming and going in great numbers,
and they had no opportunity to even eat.
So they went off in a boat by themselves to a deserted place.
People saw them leaving and many came to know about it.
They hastened there on foot from all of the towns
and arrived at the place before them.
When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd,
and his heart was moved with pity for them,
for they were like sheep without a shepherd,
and he began to teach them many things.

blessed-are-the-peacemakers

Your words  carry vibrations that are heard throughout the universe, and in Heaven. Your words have loving vibrations when the heart is open. They carry wisdom, love, peace, joy and uplift others around you. Choose your thoughts as positive and your words will vibrate as such. Choose words of compassion to heal others- love and wisdom, joy, peace and compassion can heal a multitude, uplift stressful situations, increase harmony and can be heard in Heaven. Allow your self now to think a positive uplifting word or two, such as “I am one with the Most High” and “I am close to God’s heart” – speak these words out loud. They are more than a compliment, they are uplifting because of the Truth and spiritual power they have, thus creating high level positive words and vibrations. Believe them as true for it is not calling yourself equal to God , but as one, as His child, for no one is separate except in thought.  This is what makes words high vibrating-it is their Truth. Speaks words of high vibration and high vibration is what you will attract , in your surroundings, and lifestyle. Do not speak words that upset other ones, but choose your words carefully for your words can also can carry low vibrations if you are not aware. Speak words that heal, for words have creation power, healing energy,  and are fused with Heaven’s Love, for that is what you were created with; God’s unconditional love and in His Image.
